During the launch meeting the participants split up into working groups to focus on special topics within smaller groups. Currently there are six working groups, mostly dealing with public transport.

The working groups meet four times for site visits where they experience examples of best practice within their topic. The results of the working groups will be presented at the annual conference and can be downloaded here.

New working groups are foreseen to be included in the future to cover other topics (e.g. cycling, children’s journeys, etc.). To view the results of the previous year’s working groups (pilot project) click here.

Working group on
Improving the attractiveness of public transport

Question

What is the most cost-effective approach for investment in zero/low emission vehicles (from user and environmental point of view)? What are the most effective (mix) of soft measures to increase the satisfaction/ patronage of specific customers/potential users?

Topics

Clean vehicles: examine technological solutions and find ways of sorting out problems to reduce pollution and integrate existing solutions; find out about ways of attracting people to use public transport with "soft measures" and reduce the impact of the pollution with alternative vehicles. The role of clean vehicles in increasing the attractiveness of public transport.
