The working groups have agreed on certain topics which they want to treat in depth in the benchmarking process.
One important tool are the thematic indicators, which are being developed within each of the working groups. By using these thematic indicators, the participants can asses their performance in the selected field of interest and compare themselves to others.
The thematic indicators provide information on the different approaches taken by the participants and the level of performance achieved by others, and give hints on best practices.
Depending on the questions addressed by the working groups, more quantitative performance indicators will be used as well as more qualitative indicators to compare the organisational
framework.
